Floating Hub: A Multi-Transit Hub Redefining Public Transportation

Revolutionizing Public Transportation in Kerala, India

Floating Hub is the first submerged hub in Kerala, situated 60 meters away from the land. Its fluid shape and shaggy effect have been specifically designed to tackle wind and other climatic factors. The building stands on concrete pillars, with hollow cubes placed all over the foundation to allow waves to circulate without affecting the structure. The entire building is covered with galvanized glasses supported by MS steel trusses.

The hub is composed of multiple levels, each serving a different purpose. The ground floor acts as a parking area, while the first floor houses transit counters, retail outlets, and other amenities for the public. The second floor serves as a metro rail platform, and the third floor is dedicated to high-speed rail platforms. This unique design allows for seamless connectivity and efficient transit operations.

The inspiration behind Floating Hub comes from the belief that one day, humans will live in close contact with water due to the ever-changing nature of our planet. The design takes organic and sinuous shapes, creating a structure that goes beyond a simple building on water. Floating Hub is set to start construction in 2020 and will be located in Kerala, India.
